Welcome to the Fort Worth Thunderbirds 10th Heli Heatwave! Wow, 10 years...that's hard to believe.
This year, we plan on flying and flying...that's right, you won't be interrupted by the patter of a microphone sycophant or the comings and going of full-size helis (they won't even do an auto for us).

That's right, if you come to our funfly you will get to fly and mingle with pilots of all abilities. You'll fly more at our funfly: if you don't burn a gallon of fuel, you haven't been trying. The goal for our funfly event this year is friendship and flying.

So, here are the details:
    Heli Heatwave 'X' 2008
  • AMA Sanctioned - Bring your AMA Card or join at the field.
  • 18-20 July, 2008. Friday - Sunday (Friday open flying).
  • Fort Worth Thunderbirds flying site - Benbrook Lake, Texas.
  • $25 Entry Fee - includes pilot meal.
  • Commemorative T-shirt available for purchase.
  • Raffle and drawing.
Proceeds for this year's event are going to the new Fort Worth Flying site on the south side of the lake. This is an even better site for helicopter flying and you'll get to see it at the 2009 monster event.
