Quite a few of my friends and family ride motorcycles; some are a lot newer at it than I and it causes me to be extra vigilant when I’m out riding with them. It isn’t that I am a better rider than they – it’s because experience gained during many road miles has shaped my ability to read road conditions.

I always tell less experienced riders that it, “isn’t about how good a rider you are, but how bad everyone else is.” This comment usually gets them thinking about what’s been said and the fact that it is conditions around them that shape the environment that they are in.
